A delicious blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet, Viottolo Viale was crafted by the original RedHead, and inspiration for the project, Justin Lane. Born in Hunter Vale, Justin grew up immersed in the culture of winemaking, and spent his apprenticeship in Puglia, in Southern Italy. It was there that he realised the potential of Sangiovese, (which in Puglia produces wines with a staggering 15% alcohol) and conceived the idea of creating a super-charged, fuller, warmer Aussie version of an Italian classic - keeping the bitter cherry flavours and high acidity but with the power and concentration of a Shiraz. A touch of Cabernet gives elegant structure. His believe in producing this style of wine Down Under has really paid off ...
